Tourist in my own City: A very Sherlock day.

So on Tuesday, I set off in to West London, primarily to get my phone replaced at the Apple Store in Covent Garden, but also to have a bit of an adventure!

So I jumped on the Piccadilly line at Oakwood and got out my trusty copy of American Psycho to read because I'm not cool enough to have a Kindle. I got off at Covent Garden instead of walking from Leicester Square as I usually do because it was about half 12 and a Tuesday, therefore I didn't expect it to be too packed, and I was right! The first thing I did when I got there was go and visit my friend James who is the manager of the Moomin Shop, aka the cutest little shop you will ever find! I then had a little snoop round and took some pictures before I plodded off to the Apple store for my Genius Bar appointment at 1:20pm. Safe to say I had a wonderful time as my 'genius' Will was the spitting image of Matt Smith and I fell in love with him almost instantly.

After having my phone replaced I went and had a cheeky little lunch at Starbucks- Venti Mocha Frappuccino Light and Mozzarella Meatball panini- then set off to have myself a little Sherlock Holmes adventure. Now, if you didn't know, I am absolutely infatuated with the whole Sherlock Holmes franchise, from Arthur Conan-Doyle's originals to Jeremy Brett to the Great Mouse Detective to the Moffat/Gatiss BBC series to Elementary. My first stop was North Gower street, the 'fake 221b', if you will. This location is used in the Moffat/Gatiss BBC series (aka the love of my TV life) and is recognisable from the cutest little cafe ever- Speedy's!

As soon as I saw it I did a little fangirl squeal and may have even shed a tiny tear (don't judge me). Here is a shoddy instagram picture of a very excited me, ft. Speedy's.

Ignore the glazed over eyes, I was having a moment. In case any of you would like to find North Gower street, the closest tube/train stations are Euston or Euston square, pretty easily accessible with only a 3-4 minute walk.

My next stop was the place itself- BAKER STREET!

Again, I couldn't quite contain my excitement and may have gone a bit overboard in the gift shop. However, it was wonderful and definitely worth a visit, whether you're a classics fan or even a new fan.
This is Hudsons, a cute little restaurant/cafe, obviously based around Mrs Hudson (not your housekeeper...)

And this is the Sherlock Holmes museum, whose address actually is 221b Baker street!
Finally, this is Sherly. I love him.
So that was my day! It kept a smile on my face and made me happier than I've been in a while, which may sound slightly lame, but I don't care. I think Tourist in my own City may be something I will expand on, exploring other parts of London and blogging about it. Let me know what you think!

In an attempt to be a better blogger...

I've invested in a good camera! It's a Sony Alpha A100 and I can't wait to get my hands on it!
It's second hand from a good friend of mine, but I don't care. I shall cherish it and love it and post lots of pretty pictures for you to all feast your eyes on.

Excited isn't the word!!!!

OOTD 05-02-13 - Clueless

The whole 90's grunge look shot back into fashion about 3 or 4 years ago, the cool underground kids with blogs claiming it first with their acid wash, double denim, DMs and creepers. Then, as it always goes, it all went a bit (gasp) MAINSTREAM! And soon enough, everyone was wearing the trend, with cheap knockoffs of the style popping up everywhere. Personally, I love the look, but don't find it very practical for my every day life, so I work around it.
This is my clueless look.

Denim Shirt - Pendleton from Charity Shop - £2
Crop Top - Primark - Customised
Kilt - Tartanista @ eBay - £15
Tights - Primark - £2
Creepers - £25 - Simmi Shoes

My new Curvy Kate Princess arrived this morning!

It's beautiful and true to it's name- fit for a princess. I'll have fun showing this off on the 14th!
Shall post pictures later.

Lingerie Wishlist January 2013

1. Curvy Kate Princess

Okay, this one's cheating a bit. So I am utterly head over heels in love with Curvy Kate's 'Princess' style. I already have it in black and nude, and now I'm lusting over it in every colour I can get my hands on. I'm not overly keen on the S/S 13 Orchid/Purple as it's a bit too neon for my liking, more violet than pastel, and white underwear just doesn't appeal to me whatsoever. But the Wine/Grape from AW 11 was so beautiful, that I had to buy it. (I found it on ebay in the end, eek!) Just in time for Valentines Day too, I hope my Boyfriend approves!!

2. Lepel Fiore Ruby

Oh. My. GOOOOD. I think there's something about this colour that I'm really digging right now because everything I want seems to be in it! The signature Fiore scalloped edges look beautiful in this colour, it's TO DIE FORRRR. There's the padded plunge (pictured) or the balconette, and the thong (pictured) or french shorts. I haven't bought it yet but I NEEEEED it. I'll probably go for the shorts instead of the thong, and the balconette instead of the plunge, but you get the idea. STUNNING.

3. Gorgeous by Debenhams Pink embroidered mesh bra.

Can you just look at this? How stunning!! It's a soft full cup bra and I'm totally in love. This dusky pink is a favourite of mine, I believe I have a moulded La Senza (don't hit me) one that's similar. Well, back when La Senza used to cater for all sizes that is. It's literally a lingerie set fit for a fairy. And I am that fairy. I NEED THIS SET RIGHT NOW!!

Well this turned out a lot pinker than I expected...
