Mini haul: One can never have too many handbags...

Whilst browsing in Zara today, I kept going back to this one bag. Which obviously meant that I had to make it mine.

Oh, and some lovely shoes as a bonus.

I bought a few other bits, including a beautiful grey chiffon blazer and a feather design bracelet cuff, which I'm sure you will see in upcoming OOTDs shortly.

Do you have a favourite Zara bag? The ever-popular mini shopper, maybe?

Tourist in my own City: Westfield Stratford & Liverpool Street Station

Just a few photos I managed to take a midst the hectic chaos that is Westfield Stratford City and the lovely Liverpool Street. It's not even a weekend! However, I had a wonderful time with my best friends and hope to catch up with them again soon as they're back from uni for the Summer!

DIY Floral Scatter Cushion

Hello sparkly creatures!

Anyone that knows me will know that I have a very creative mind. In other words, I'm not interested unless it's artistic! So, whenever I get a day off from work, I like to reallt make the most of it with some arty adventures!

Since getting my new double bed, I've been left with loads of gorgeous linen for single covers and nothing for it to go on! That's where this idea came in. It was so easy, and only takes some scrap material (such as old bed sheets or pillow covers), a basic knowledge of sewing and a dash of patience thrown in for good measure.

All I had to do was cut out the shapes I needed (slightly larger to make room for hemming) and get sewing! For the stuffing I used the inside of an old scatter cushion that I found in my airing cupboard.

Everything was done by hand as I prefer the final look, and also just knowing how much effort I put in to it. The embroidery isn't essential, of course. I was just feeling very creative, haha! Here's the finished product for you to feast your eyes on (with a little Boo thrown in at the end!).

I had lots of material left over, so I may make some bunting! Goodness knows I don't have enough already...  Oops!

Have any of you got creative this weekend?

Love and sparkles,

Lingerie Autumn/Winter '13 collection favourites...

Fantasie's 'Elodie' in fashion colour Teal. I adore the Elodie and feel like a temptress when I wear it. So believe me, when we get this at work, I will be all over it like a fly to jam.

Freya's 'Ooh la la'. Need I say more? I'm in love. This is a definite Christmas time treat!

Gossard's 'Felicity' in Aqua. Not very AW in terms of colouring, but stunning nonetheless. My love for Gossard is creeping back, the Glossies seem like a distant bad dream.

I'm sure I'll add to this list, but these are the first three that spring to mind. Very Eveden dominated as you can see, but who doesn't love a bit of Freya/Fantasie?

What are you looking out for this AW?

Love and lingerie,

Green hair, don't care...

Some of you may have noticed that my hair is slightly... different than normal. Let me start by saying it was a total mistake.

I wanted a pale lilac dip dye, and from previous experience with crazy colour, I've found that my hair doesn't grasp it very well. So I chose a bright purple- violette -and hoped for the best.

To my dismay, the colour really held, leaving me with electric blue hair. I've washed it and washed it to no avail, leaving me with turquoise mermaid hair. However, I'm beginning to grow quite accustom to it.

What do you think?

Braid-y bunch

So. Summer has FINALLY arrived, and what's worse that getting all hot and frustrated when your hair's down? You don't want to chop off your locks just to keep you cool, of course not. And while ponytails and topknots are cute, they just get a bit boring, you know?

I've chosen this super sweet look as my summer up-do. Now, my Mum thinks I look like a Swedish tourist and my Dad thinks I look like a milk maid. BUT FEAR NOT! They know nothing about fashion. Fierce wearers of this look are the Olsen twins, and God knows how a la mode they are. I'd say it's more Greek Goddess than Swedish milk lady.

I achieved this hair style by plaiting my hair in bunches about half way up my head (aligned with the tops of my ears) then crossing them over and pinning them in place. It's really as simple as that.

Also pictured is my uber awesome retro-camera-style phone case from Primark, which only cost me a mere £3! Bless that shop.

Let me know if you try out this style! I would love to see.

It's a new dawn, it's a new day...

 Well, sort of.

I thought I'd give the blog a fresh lick of paint, per se. A bit minimalistic, but hey, I like it.

Let me know what you think! Did you prefer the old layout?

Kisses forever

(Ooh look, new sig!)

OOTD 19-06-13 - Let the sun shine on your face...

Bonjour my lovelies!

Now, if you're from London like me, you'll know that we've lacked sunshine recently! Considering it's well into June, you'd think we'd have some by now. Alas, no. However, we get peeks of it here and there, and today was just one of those days.

I started the day with a black Earl Grey (of course) and a catch up with my Mum and Grandma at Sainsburys, then went for a run. After said run, I had a bite of lunch then went to meet my boyfriend at the park. I chose to wear my new swing dress from Lindy Bop, as I am totes in head over heels love with it. Now to get a tan!!

Have you all made the most of this rare sunny day?

Dress - £29.99 - LindyBop.co.uk
Denim Jacket - £18 - Matalan
Loafers (Not Pictured) - £75 (£13 Charity Shop) - Clarks
Sunglasses - £85 - Lulu Guinness

Love and joy,

xoxo

Greased Lightening...

I've just returned from the most wonderful place in the world.

Okay, I may be exaggerating, but it's not far off. My Boyfriend's parent's took us to Brook's Diner in Southgate, a 50's style American Diner type restaurant. Hearing the description excited me enough, but actually walking in... Wow. I felt like I was in some sort of haven. Rocking up in my 50's swing dress courtesy of Lindy Bop, pin curled locks and cat eye sunglasses, I was right at home.

The decor was gorgeous. Monochrome with splashes of bright red, everything shiny and gorgeous, walls adorned with photos of various film and music stars, along with guitars and other bits of music memorabilia. On the front of the menu, a Sailor Jerry-esque pin up girl, immediately exciting me even more, if it were possible.

Oh but the food. God the food. I chose a Cheese and Bacon Burger with Fries (screw the diet, just for today) and it was glorious. Mum-in-law opted for Scampi and Fries while the boy and Pa-in-law went for Supersized Burgers with everything on it. I also had a gorgeous Strawberry milkshake which would put every other drink of the same name to shame.

In short, I had a fabulous time and would recommend it to anyone, whether you're a fan of the era or not. The service was spectacular and George, the owner, is a warm, funny and welcoming man. So, if you can't quite see the address in the picture above and find yourself in the North London area, the address is:

24 Hampden Square
Southgate
N14 5JR

Let me know if you've visited before or are planning to!

Love and sparkles,
xoxo

When life gets in the way...

I'm not dead, I promise!
Life has just been incredibly hectic lately, what with my show and work. However, I will do my best to make more time for blogging!

Pictured is my wonderful boyfriend Louis and I at a barbecue we had with some of my friends recently, making the most of the short summer we've had here in London!
