Lingerie Wishlist January 2013

1. Curvy Kate Princess

Okay, this one's cheating a bit. So I am utterly head over heels in love with Curvy Kate's 'Princess' style. I already have it in black and nude, and now I'm lusting over it in every colour I can get my hands on. I'm not overly keen on the S/S 13 Orchid/Purple as it's a bit too neon for my liking, more violet than pastel, and white underwear just doesn't appeal to me whatsoever. But the Wine/Grape from AW 11 was so beautiful, that I had to buy it. (I found it on ebay in the end, eek!) Just in time for Valentines Day too, I hope my Boyfriend approves!!

2. Lepel Fiore Ruby

Oh. My. GOOOOD. I think there's something about this colour that I'm really digging right now because everything I want seems to be in it! The signature Fiore scalloped edges look beautiful in this colour, it's TO DIE FORRRR. There's the padded plunge (pictured) or the balconette, and the thong (pictured) or french shorts. I haven't bought it yet but I NEEEEED it. I'll probably go for the shorts instead of the thong, and the balconette instead of the plunge, but you get the idea. STUNNING.

3. Gorgeous by Debenhams Pink embroidered mesh bra.

Can you just look at this? How stunning!! It's a soft full cup bra and I'm totally in love. This dusky pink is a favourite of mine, I believe I have a moulded La Senza (don't hit me) one that's similar. Well, back when La Senza used to cater for all sizes that is. It's literally a lingerie set fit for a fairy. And I am that fairy. I NEED THIS SET RIGHT NOW!!

Well this turned out a lot pinker than I expected...

TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSIA NOW

Here marks the beginning of an era.

The start of my American Psycho phase.

Sophie the Foodie

I decided that in light of my new 'if I'm going to be healthy let's at least make it exciting' lifestyle, I pay tribute to my all round idol: cooking/domestic/sexual goddess Nigella Lawson.

As an avid reader of her blog and a shameless addict of her Facebook page (but seriously, those supper updates... Please can I be you? Pretty please?) I thought I should start being a foodie type person too. Because that's the only logical thought track, right? Which then lead to me deciding that in my new Domestic Goddess status, I should learn to use the oven shouldn't I? (Slight exaggeration, but ask anyone, it's not that far off.)

One thing I can make, pretty well if I do say so myself, if a damn good omelette. (Insert Benedict Cumberbatch's HIGNFY 'Damn good shag' here? No?) So why not extend on that? Because in all honesty, egg and cheese gets a bit boring in the end doesn't it?

SO, with a massive mug full of green tea and lemon (my new favourite beverage don't you know) I trawled my fridge and decided that red pepper, red onion and parmasan would be a nice combo. (Don't laugh, it's scrummy) Thus, Sophie's super hearty and super chunky red type omelette thing was born.

Ingredients:

Flora sunflower oil cooking spray
2-3 Medium eggs. (I use two, but you never know, you might be well hungry.)
1 medium Red Pepper
1/2 Red Onion
Grated Parmasan (or you could do it yourself, you posh thing, you.)

Recipe:

1. Chop up the Pepper and the onion. I like to keep the pepper quite chunky and the onion fine, as I think the texture in the outcome is beautiful.
2. Chuck them onto the hob with 1 spray of the flora, just to brown them up a bit whilst you crack the eggs.
3. VERY IMPORTANT!! In my opinion, the secret to a perfect omelette is all in the beating (ooer madam). DO. NOT. WHISK! Literally, just break your eggs into a jug, break the yolks and stir it no more than five times. You want lots of definition between the yolk and the whites still. If you want fluffy, this is the trick. If you whisk and beat them like you're making scrambled egg, then I hope you're looking forward to an egg pancake.
4. Chuck the peppers and onions into the jug with the eggs, then chuck everything from the jug back into the pan.
5. Cook to desired look, then sprinkle parmasan over when complete.

Ok, ok, so I'm not Nigella. I get that. My omelettes come out looking like wet flannels. But the thing is, I don't care what they look like because they taste bloody marvelous. So, from now on, I'm going to let my little creative mind think up some other quite frankly amazing recipes in my bid to become: Sophella Lawson.

Give the girl an iPhone

Like the clever little cat I am, I've managed to completely overdo my data allowance since having an iPhone. Woe is me. So I went in to vodafone and upped my data plan, now I can roam free!

I celebrated by dowloading the blogger app. Expect to see a lot more of me. (Sorry in advance)

Hermit crab

So after my upcoming operation on Tuesday morning, I will officially be, a hermit crab.

Ok so not really, but it's close enough. I'm not allowed outside for 2 weeks. I can't even be near an open window. How shit is that? So I'm finding things to keep me busy for 2 weeks whilst my poor little (umm) nose is healing up. So far I have:

  • re-downloaded the sims 2 (again)
  • bought some new watercolours incase a creative bug takes over me
  • bought some cool new dvds
  • lined up some tv shows to watch (namely breaking bad, because if i don't get round to watching it soon i think my boyfriend will fall out with me)
  • set up a queue on tumblr (in case i'm too weak to type in my url)
Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Here comes Honey Boo Boo

Ok I'm not talking about the coupon-ing/pageant-ing/mud sliding reality TV show, (redneckogise, y'all), I'm talking about my cat, Boo (otherwise known as Boo Bah, Boobies, Honey Boo Boo Child, Justin Boober, Michael Booble, Booballs, or Hello Pretty Lady.)

Ugh she's so cute I can't take it.

My sanctuary

I’ve always been pretty passionate about interior design. I mean, I made my dad take me to meet Linda Barker when i was 7 (he worked for DFS and she was the spokesperson, it was brilliant).
Although recently I’ve started to get a bit more serious about it. My room is something i take serious pride in (i like it to look like an ikea catalogue), I’m always changing furniture around or getting new wall hangings or looking for inspiration.
The thing that always held me back from pursuing my interest is the fact that i know it’s a hard business to get in to, much like being a chef or an actor, you’re only really getting great money/a lot of business if you’re famous. So throughout 6th form I convinced myself that I wanted to be a teacher. Bad move. I'm now working full time at a department store, wishing I had followed my heart instead of my head. That's not always a smart move, but a very good (and wise) friend of mine told me:
"Go for it. Don't go down the path you THINK is right when you know you'll only be partially happy or not happy at all. If this is your passion then you shouldn't dare give up on it. Yeah we need to survive or what not but If you KNOW it will make you happy in the long run then DEFINITELY go for it especially when it's a passion. (sic) Always take the risk of following your passion."
And for that, I thank him.

Here are a few typically instagrammed (until I get a new camera) photos of my room Sanctuary. Excuse the layout, I'm still trying to get the hang of blogspot/blogger.

Aforementioned Origami Cranes.
I made them using a technique I learnt in Art Club at Primary
School. I'm certain it's all over the internet somewhere.
The paper I used was the sheet music of
"La Valse d'Amelie", a song from one of  my favourite films,
'Amelie', composed by Yann Tiersen.
Under the cranes are small 'lucky stars' which I also learnt
to make at primary school, using 1 thin strip of paper.
